Karma, Nalu, Bali, or Lotus: Which Mana Vans Hawaii Campervan Is Right for Your Maui Trip?

Karma, Nalu, Bali, or Lotus: Which Mana Vans Hawaii Campervan Is Right for Your Maui Trip?
One of the first questions we get from travelers planning a Maui campervan adventure is simple: which van should I book? It's a fair question. We have four custom-converted vans in our fleet — Karma, Nalu, Bali, and Lotus — and while they all come fully equipped for life on the road, each one has a distinct personality and layout. The right choice depends on who's traveling, how you plan to spend your time, and what kind of experience you're after.
Here's a breakdown of each van so you can make the call with confidence before you book.
Karma: 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Conversion
Karma is our 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter conversion — a classic Sprinter build that set the tone for everything we've built since. At 19 feet long, she seats and sleeps 2, making her ideal for couples or solo travelers who want the full Mercedes Sprinter experience with the reliability and road presence that the Sprinter platform is known for.
The Sprinter chassis gives Karma a taller interior than the ProMaster vans — you can stand up fully inside, which makes a real difference after a long day on the Road to Hana. Like all our vans, Karma comes with a gas range stovetop, farm sink with hot water, hot water shower, refrigerator/freezer, solar panels, full or queen-sized bed, and everything you need to camp in comfort across Maui.
Best for: Couples or solo travelers who want a classic Sprinter build with a spacious, stand-up interior.
Nalu: 2020 Dodge ProMaster Conversion
Nalu is our 2020 Dodge ProMaster conversion — a spacious layout with modern amenities designed for travelers who want room to move. At 19 feet long, Nalu seats and sleeps 2 and features the same full equipment list as the rest of our fleet: gas stovetop, farm sink, hot water shower, refrigerator/freezer, solar panels, dimmable lighting, outlets, odorless toilet, and top-quality linens.
The ProMaster platform gives Nalu a wide, practical interior with excellent storage. If you're planning to spend significant time cooking meals in the van between stops at Wai'anapanapa or Kipahulu, Nalu's layout works well for extended stays.
Best for: Couples who want a spacious ProMaster layout with practical storage for longer trips.
Bali: 2021 Dodge ProMaster Conversion
Bali is our 2021 Dodge ProMaster conversion and the only van in our fleet that seats 4 and sleeps 3 — making her the clear choice for small families or groups of three traveling together. At 19 feet long with upgraded interior features, Bali brings the same full equipment package as our other vans with the added capacity to accommodate more travelers.
If you're planning a family adventure to Hosmer Grove or a trip around Maui with a third traveler in the mix, Bali is the van that makes it work without anyone feeling cramped. The 2021 model year also brings interior upgrades over the earlier ProMaster builds.
Best for: Small families, groups of three, or anyone who needs to seat and sleep more than two people.
Lotus: 2021 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Conversion
Lotus is our newest and most premium van — a 2021 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter conversion with an upgraded interior that represents the top of our fleet. Seats and sleeps 2. If you're looking for the best we have, Lotus is it.
The 2021 Sprinter platform brings updated reliability and technology over earlier builds, and the interior has been fitted with premium finishes and upgraded amenities. Like Karma, Lotus offers the stand-up Sprinter interior height — but with the refinements of a newer build. For travelers who want a luxury campervan experience on Maui without compromise, Lotus delivers.
Best for: Couples who want the most premium experience in our fleet — newest build, upgraded interior, top-of-the-line Sprinter platform.
How to Decide: A Quick Guide by Traveler Type
- Couple seeking a classic Sprinter experience: Karma
- Couple wanting maximum interior space and storage: Nalu
- Family or group of three: Bali — the only van that seats and sleeps 3
- Couple wanting the newest, most premium build: Lotus
All four vans include the same full equipment list — gas range stovetop, farm sink with hot water, hot water shower, refrigerator/freezer, solar panels, dimmable lighting, outlets, odorless toilet, top-quality linens, full or queen-sized bed, swivel seats up front, and two ventilation fans. The differences come down to platform, capacity, model year, and interior refinements.
