Mana Vans Hawaii Terms of Service

These Terms of Service apply to every rental of a camper van from Mana Vans Hawaii ("Mana Vans," "we," "us"), whether you book on our website, through our booking system, or through Outdoorsy. By checking the box at checkout, you ("Renter") agree to these terms.

1. Who can rent

  • The primary Renter must be at least 25 years old and hold a valid driver's license.
  • Every person who will drive must be approved and verified before pickup. Unverified drivers may not drive the van.
  • You must provide accurate contact and license information when booking.

2. Booking, payment, and fees

  • Your reservation is confirmed once payment is accepted at checkout.
  • The total shown at checkout includes the nightly rate, any add ons you select, delivery or pickup fees, prep fees, protection package charges, and applicable Hawaii taxes and fees.
  • A fully refundable security deposit of $1,200 is required. [Confirm when it is collected and how soon it is released after return.]
  • Fees for late returns, extra cleaning, refueling, or lost items are described in section 7.

3. Cancellations and changes

  • Cancellations follow the cancellation policy shown at checkout and in your confirmation email. Bookings made through Outdoorsy follow the Outdoorsy cancellation policy.
  • Our current website policy: cancel within 48 hours of booking for a full refund, as long as at least 14 days remain before departure. After 48 hours, you receive a 60% refund if you cancel 30 or more days before arrival, 25% if you cancel 14 to 29 days before arrival, and no refund within 14 days, plus a $150 cancellation fee. The service fee and the tax on it are not refundable. Insurance and other taxes are refundable. [Confirm this is the policy Zech wants for direct bookings. Wheelbase is currently set to Flexible, which is much looser.]
  • If you still owe part of the booking total when you cancel, you must pay the remainder.
  • To change your dates, contact us as early as possible. Changes depend on availability and may change the price.

4. Pickup and return

  • Pickup and return location: 199 Lauo Lp, Kahului, HI 96732, or the delivery address selected at checkout. We provide an in person walkthrough and a van how to guide before your trip.
  • Late returns without approval are charged at the late drop off rate shown at checkout, and we may charge additional days if the van is not returned.

5. Protection and insurance

  • Every renter must purchase a protection package at checkout, including US and Canadian residents. The package, price, and deductible shown at booking apply to your rental.24/7 roadside assistance is included with every booking.
  • Protection coverage may be excess to your own insurance. Your personal auto or credit card coverage may apply first.
  • Protection does not cover damage caused by prohibited use (section 6), unapproved drivers, or violations of these terms.
  • You are responsible for the deductible and for any damage, loss, or fines not covered by the protection package or your own insurance.
  • Report any accident, damage, theft, or breakdown to us right away, and no later than the end of the rental.

6. Rules of use

  • No smoking or vaping inside the van.
  • No pets unless approved in writing.
  • No music festivals, no tailgating, and no events or parties in or around the van.
  • No driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • No off road driving, no driving on roads closed to rental vehicles, and no towing.
  • Follow Hawaii laws, parking rules, and campground rules. You are responsible for tickets, tolls, and fines.
  • Do not sublet, resell, or lend the van to anyone.
  • Use the solar system and appliances as instructed during the walkthrough.
  • Mileage is unlimited.

7. Damage, cleaning, and loss

  • You will do a walkthrough at pickup and return. Please report existing damage then.
  • Renters are responsible for damage, excessive dirt, odor, smoke, pet hair, or missing items beyond normal wear.

8. Our right to end a rental

We may end a rental and ask for the van back, without refund, if the van is used unsafely, illegally, or against these terms.

9. Limits of liability

To the extent allowed by Hawaii law, Mana Vans is not liable for lost belongings, trip delays, or indirect losses. Your use of the van is at your own risk, and nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Privacy

We collect the information you provide to book, verify drivers, and process payment. We share it only with our booking, payment, and insurance providers, and as the law requires. [Link to privacy policy.]

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii. Disputes will be handled in the courts of [Maui County], Hawaii.
